Riyadh Art

Riyadh Art is a civic art initiative of unprecedented scale that will transform public spaces and enable artistic expression through community engagement to accelerate the development of the city’s cultural economy.

Riyadh Art is one of the four projects launched by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on March 19, 2019.  The Royal Commission of Riyadh City is transforming the Kingdom’s capital into an environmentally friendly and sustainable city offering the highest standards of livability and lifestyle, in line with the ambitions of Vision 2030.

Riyadh Art project has been developed to turn the capital into a creative canvas - a gallery without walls - to enrich lives, inspire creative expression and nurture the creative economy, reflecting a spirit of art and culture in Riyadh.

The project is comprised of more than 1,000 public art installations and is supported by two major annual festivals, bringing art to residential neighborhoods, gardens and parks, squares and public spaces, metro and bus stations, bridges and pedestrian pathways, city entrances and major tourist destinations across the city.

A comprehensive community engagement program will take artist workshops into Riyadh’s residential neighborhoods and provide spaces where all residents have the opportunity to be involved in creativity through artistic expression.
